Yes, the backyard concrete pavers are stained and sealed and the river rocks have been added in between. I’m super happy with the results!
We used Soycrete Stain color Desert Mountain with a little bit of Espresso and sealed them with Sherwin Williams Wet Look concrete sealer. First we had to etch the concrete with phosphoric acid so the stain had something to grip to. The acid is applied with a pump sprayer and rubbed in with a broom. After about 10 minutes we rinsed the pavers really well with water to ensure all the acid was removed. We then had to wait a bit for the pavers to dry. Once dry we applied the soycrete stain with rags, simply dipping the rag into the stain and rubbing it onto the pavers. You need to be really careful to apply it so there are no lines, almost as if you’re doing a faux paint job. Next step was applying the sealer which was done with a 1/4″ nap paint roller. We applied two coats of sealer and voila!
Initially I thought maybe we could leave the pavers white but the look was just way too modern for our house. I think the light nutmeg color ties the light green of the pool tile in with the yellow of the house pretty nicely.
What do you think?
